Greg BYERS, U.S.A.
Special (all wood lattice bracing)
Br./ced.
New
:
2008
$15,000.00
Offered here is a new, very rare Br. Greg Byers classical guitar. We have always loved this maker's instruments. An American classic with their rich dark signature sound - the many new Byers guitars that we have been privileged to offer over the years have had a sparkle and focus which were quite fine indeed. We find this current all wood lattice braced instrument to be a particularly special example of this master's magnificent work.
One of only a few very talented American makers to achieve international acclaim, Greg Byers handcrafts a concert guitar which is unusually responsive to a player's every artistic demand. His guitars possess outstanding power, evenness, separation, exceptionally accurate intonation, and superb workmanship.
They also have one of the easiest, most comfortable neck and action set ups around. Concert guitars of great power and projection, these instruments are much, much more: rich colorful round trebles (including an unusually quick, well projecting first string), deep 'cello like basses, solid fundamental tones throughout, clean warm dark sound in all registers.
David Russell has recorded two C.D.s with his Byers guitar: "Music of Federico Moreno Torroba" Telarc C.D. 80451; "Guitar Quebec '94" Doberman-Yppan DO-179. David Tanenbaum, Kevin Gallagher, Phillip Candaleria and Den Min Yeh have also performed and recorded on Byers' instruments. Most recently, Scott Tenant purchased a Greg Byers concert guitar with a cedar soundboard. (Learn more).
